A new study by Local SEO Guide has shown that for local businesses attempting to rank in the Google Local Pack, that reviews are vastly more important than links. The group looked at over 100,000 businesses and 200 factors as part of the study.
It was found that even among businesses with “crappy link profiles” (low quality and low authority links), reviews with keywords in them more than made up for the difference.
The study also found a high correlation between a higher organic search ranking and a higher local pack ranking.
